Dr. Harold Saunders, President and Founder of the International Institute for Sustained Dialogue and renowned political mind in the field of conflict transformation has released a new book, titled Politics is about Relationship, A Blueprint for the Citizen’s Century.   This book, hailed by former Secretary of State Henry Kissinger as “..insightful and thought-provoking…” is the third volume Dr. Saunders has published that is tailored to his insights into peace processes. His conceptualization takes the name of Sustained Dialogue—a five-stage conflict transformation and public peace-building process he conceptualized after his time as co-chair of the Dartmouth Conference.

 

Dr. Saunders, a Princeton alum, has overseen the implementation of Sustained Dialogue in locations across the country through the Sustained Dialogue Campus Network and across the globe. As the President of IISD, Saunders conducts dialogues himself, including a longstanding project in Tajikistan which spurred the creation of it’s own separate and autonomous NGO and an Arab-American-European dialogue. Through his experiences in government and outside of it, Saunders was able to recognize what he details in his book as the “Relational Paradigm” in public peace processes.
