I believe that implementation of Sustained Dialogue on our campus has enabled members of the community to come together as a close knit family, instead being a community of strangers and associates. Personally, there are some people in SD that I might not have ever considered being friends with, if it were not for participating. But now I am really good friends with group members that are my complete polar opposite.

I am proud to be part of an organization that embodies such diversity, acceptance, and honesty. This is how to make large-scale societal change in the ways we interact, from the collegiate level.

What you can expect from SDCN

SDCN's Program Directors provide continual guidance and support as students work to build and maintain their SD program. This includes:

-Access to helpful literature and advice related to Sustained Dialogue implementation

-Conference calls to plan for recruiting participants, recruiting moderators, and establishing an appropriate leadership structure to manage running SD on your campus

-A 2-day Moderator/Initiator Workshop upon committing to initiating a program

-Moderator and Leadership Manuals for student leaders of the initiative

-A yearly training for new and returning moderators on campus

-A yearly retreat for new and returning SD student leaders each summer in Washington, D.C.

-SDCN’s National Intercollegiate Conference assembles SD student practitioners and alumni together annually for a weekend of workshops, dialogue sessions, and activities that build and strengthen our network and each individual campus program
